The start of something new

Welcome all to the year 2020!

Now that last year is behind us, we finally get to embark on this new and exciting chapter in our lives together.

This year is going to change lives, I can feel it. With our tired souls rested and our goals set, we tackle this year head on with love, compassion and commitment.

In 2020, compassion is key. But what does that mean?

It’s in the way we interact with those around us. I encourage you to reminisce on the tough times you’ve had and use it as inspiration to help others. This could mean lending a helping hand or being there for a friend. Volunteering for a charity or just helping out around the house. This year will be a year for kindness, because one true selfless act always sparks another. So what will you do?

With that in mind, I have a question:

Do you feel like there is this unspoken pressure to make a list of ‘new year resolutions’?

This fad where everyone NEEDS to make a new year resolutions list only to be disappointed by it within the first few weeks? I know I have fallen into that trap one too many times before.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE lists. Anyone who has been readying my blogs know that I love making many lists. It’s how I set goals and work hard. But remember to set goals for yourself and no one else, break them down and work on them piece by piece.

So…

What do you have planned?

The start of a new career? A new passion or hobby? A new year in school or maybe your last year of school… Whatever lies ahead of you, make sure to be strong and determined.

Remember to take it step by step and day by day.

Make every moment, every opportunity count- and please remember;

Don’t linger in the negative and make sure to celebrate every win you have, no matter how small or insignificant it seems, it matters!

Happy New Year everyone, stay safe and be blessed!
